Smart Grid Investment Planning

The term “smart grid” is in wide, even fashionable usage.  It portrays this nimble and interconnected set of networks, which may dictate power allocation optimally, in real time, with the overall goal of streamlining and reducing power use.

Historically, electric utilities have made their capital purchase decisions by looking only at the operational efficiency savings in the same category as the capital expenditure. Smart grid investments do not fit easily into that framework of analysis. PLT provides experienced staff and a proven methodology that enable a utility to accurately forecast that an investment will address one or more intelligent grid objectives.  Working with PLT a utility will be able to choose the optimum deployment sequence for their smart grid projects.
